Privacy policy

Snipify turns one long video into short clips and publishes them to the social accounts you connect. This page describes exactly what that requires us to store. It is a working draft prepared for legal review, and anything marked [CONFIRM] still needs checking by Snipify.

Who we are

What we store

• Your account: email address, and a display name if you set one.
• Videos you upload, held in private storage that only your account can read.
• Clips derived from those videos, including the start and end points you set and the clip files produced from them.
• Captions and scheduling details for posts you create.
• Access tokens for social accounts you connect, stored encrypted at rest, together with the account name, handle and avatar the platform reports back to us.
• A record of each publishing attempt: the time, the outcome, and the response the platform returned, so we can show you why something failed.

The contact form

If you send us a message through the contact form, we store the name, email address and message you typed, along with the IP address and browser the request came from. We use the message to reply to you, and the IP address and browser only to stop the form being abused.

What we do not do

• We do not publish anything to an account you have not connected yourself.
• We do not sell your data or your video content.

Why we store it

To provide the service you asked for: storing your video so you can cut it, producing clips, and publishing to the accounts you connected. We rely on the performance of our contract with you as the legal basis for this processing. [CONFIRM: jurisdiction and lawful basis wording.]

Third parties

• Our cloud database, storage and hosting providers, which process data on our instruction.
• The social platforms you connect, which receive the clip and caption you choose to publish: YouTube, Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn and TikTok.

How long we keep it

We keep your content until you delete it. Deleting a video deletes its stored file, its clips and the scheduled posts that referenced them. Removing a connected account deletes its stored tokens. Deleting your account deletes all of it. Backups may retain copies for a short period after deletion. [CONFIRM: backup retention window.]

Your rights

You can access, correct, export or delete your data. Display name, password and account deletion are available in the app under Account. For anything else, write to [CONFIRM: privacy contact email address] and we will respond within 30 days.
